Truffles

This week on the 24th of may, the year 7 and some of the year 8s made some delicious truffles. As we were getting started Miss Ilaoa and whaea Kelly told us to wash our hand, after that we got put in groups. We were told to have one person to collect the ingredients. The Ingredients were super wine biscuits, 1 can of condense milk, cocoa and 1 cup of desiccated coconut. As we were making the truffles our hands got sticky and the biscuits were crunched and squashed between my fingers it felt gross but it tasted yum. How to Make Truffles. 1. Crush your packet of super wine biscuits - they don't need to be fine crumbs. 2. shift 1/4 cup of cocoa into a bowl. 3. gently mix the super win biscuits and cocoa together. 4. Add 3/4 cup of choc chips. 5. add 1 cup of desiccated coconut. 6. gently mix together. 7. pour in the whole can of condense milk (mix as you go) 8. make small truffle balls then roll it on a plate of desiccated coconut. Store in the fridge over night. 10. pack truffle balls into cellophane bags and tie it up with a ribbon.

Now that's thinking

This term we started off with our new topic about now that's thinking. A song was played as team 5 started to approach hall, the song was called bright ideas by Vitamin A.

As we were waiting team 1 started off with their item about Matariki, gathering food and making some fancy kites. Team 2 and 3 were also about Matariki and different ideas.

As Mr Somerville was speaking a video was played and it was about Maori technologies and some genius ideas. As team 5 started to walk up the stairs, some music played the song was called Bob the builder, Mr Wiseman was Bob the builder and he started to make up this fancy accent.

Mr Wiseman started to talk to us about how to sing the Bob the builder properly, but we never got near the sound he made.

Mrs Judd, Mrs Ilaoa and Miss Tapuke had problems and they all needed help to solve them lucky for Bob the builder. He solved each problem with his thinking. Our topic for this term is now that's thinking.
